Dr. Wu is always amazing. I’ve been going to her for years now and she’s hands down the best in Aiken! She’s very thorough and it’s always a great atmosphere. In 2022, at a routine visit she saved my life after discovering swelling behind my eye. She sent me to the ER immediately, even offered to drive me there because I came to my appointment alone. I ended up with an emergency VP shunt. Drs like her are rare now days. She kept up with me after hours while at the ER and has continued to do so til day. I recommend her to everyone. I can’t say enough great things!

I really enjoyed my visit with Dr. Wu as well as the other staff at Wu Family Eye Care. Everything was very thorough. The staff at LensCrafters was also great. I would highly recommend this office. 05/22 Editing my review because while I enjoyed my visit with Dr. Wu, I was referred to a retina specialist and the entire process has been a nightmare. After two weeks of never hearing anything regarding my referral, I called the specialist office only to be told they had to not received a referral. I was also informed that they have a lot of issues with communication from Dr. Wu’s office staff. I personally had to go back and forth through out the span of an entire day, with Dr. Wu’s staff and the specialist office to ensure my referral information was sent and received. I waited for another week and a half and did not hear back so I called the specialist office for an update to be informed my referral was denied and sent back to Dr. Wu’s office and they should have contacted me. I was not contacted by anyone. I went that day to speak with Dr. Wu, who just as before was extremely kind and took time to speak to me without an appointment- although her staff seemed bothered by my “walk in”. Dr. Wu asked a staff member to get in touch with the retina specialist office. I asked if I would be contacted and was told yes, however that was two weeks ago and I have not heard a thing. I’ve tried calling Dr. Wu’s office but have not been successful in speaking with someone. At this point I will be obtaining my records to find a different provider, which is very unfortunate seeing how much I enjoyed my initial visit.

Very professional and thorough exam, and optometrist was so nice! I feel like she did an excellent job explaining each test and outcome, and I love my new contacts she suggested. I would recommend her for sure!

Dr. Wu, was very cordial but, I was totally lost during the visit with her. She talked but afterwards I was like what? Did not know how to explain what she was trying to convey.

Dr. Wu conducts her eye exams like some kind of psychological torture experiment. Instead of using the classic manual phoropter, where the doctor covers one eye and asks “one or two” while flipping lenses, she uses a digital phoropter that shows two of the same letter side by side, vertically, or at diagonals. The whole experience is robotic. If the letter is an "R," she repeats in a flat tone: "Left R. Right R. Which one is better? Which one is clearer? Which one has more clar-i-ty? Or are they about the same?" She recites this line over and over. If one is clearly better and you say "left" while she is still speaking, she keeps going anyway. Even if you repeat yourself, "left, left, left, LEFT," she continues the script as if you said nothing. She will tell you there is no wrong answer, but if you say they look the same she tells you "you must choose one", so why even ask if they look the same? If you take time trying to pick the correct answer, she berates you saying that focusing will throw off the reading, even though you already said they were the same and she insisted you choose. After going through all the options once, she repeats the entire process a second time. If you give a different answer on the second round, she will berate you. "You came to me two minutes ago and said left was better. Now you say right is better." No, I said they were the same and you said I had to choose one, which I did begrudgingly. The staff scheduled another appointment for me a year later without asking or informing me about it and started sending spam emails I never agreed to. If you want a basic, respectful eye exam, go somewhere else.
