This hotel is a Health Hazard and DEHC needs to come! Posting due to Hotel lying about this situation and me seeing a recent guest staying with similar issue. I am blown away at this hotel. This establishment knows for a fact about this situation! It is absolutely absurd that they would allow this! I got to my room 206 and settled in. It was getting a bit hot so I went to turn the AC on and ALMOST FELL THROUGH THE FLOOR! The thing is the whole was already there!!! And I went into it! Nearly twisting my ankle. Then I look up and see a sagging/water damaged roof that’s been painted 100 times. It’s not over the bed, and I feel uncomfortable to mention it to staff here. It has to be coming from the AC because there is black !!!mold!!! Around the base! They HAVE to know! The ONLY THING HOLDING A PERSON FROM GOING THROUGH THE FLOOR, IS THE CARPET!!! Literally, I am ashamed to stay here. The lobby and all is nice and freshly painted/cleaned… then the scabs are in the room. THE HOTEL OWNER LIED TO ME AND CORPORATE SAYING THE ROOM WASN’T SUPPOSED TO BE RENTED! Now I see another guest that seems to have stayed in the room below this one!

I was on the road for 10 hrs with a 4yr old, a 1month old and my husband. We had an extremely late arrival. I arrived about 3am. I called ahead of time to get checked in over the phone due to the late arrival time and was able to check-in through a link that was sent to my phone. When I got there, the front desk took my information and give me a room key. I couldn’t get into the room because something was wrong with the door lock. The front desk tried to get it open and nothing worked. I asked the front desk for a different room but they said that they didn’t have any more rooms available at that time. The man at the front desk tried for over 1 hour to get the room door open but he couldn’t. I was patient and by the time I had been there for almost 1.5hrs I asked if I can cancel the reservation. The man called the manager on the phone because he was the only one working. The manager had the nerve to say if I wanted to wait, they can get me in a room in few hours. I obviously said no and called a hotel nearby to book. I asked Wingate to cancel my reservation. Wingate had the audacity to still charge me for the first night because of their policy for cancellation is first night still charged. How are they going to charge me for a night that they couldn’t provide me accommodations for? Completely out of my control and for their fault. They had the nerve to charge me the first night in which I couldn’t even get into a room and the front desk said they won’t have another room available until a few hours. Again, this is after I already been waiting well over an hour for the guy to fix the door so I can get into my room. I was very patient after a very long 10 hrs drive with small children and this is the result. Because I originally booked through booking.com, I paid the full payment and was refunded by booking.com. Because I cancelled, Wingate directly charged my incidental credit card on file for the first night to be slick after telling booking.com they’ll refund me...

i booked a room for 2 days for $230. When i got into the room the windows were wide open and there was not a screen so any bugs could have got in the room. Also my AC was leaking and it got into one side of the carpet, when i reported it they did NOTHING about it. There was a big mosquito i had to kill in the room because they left the windows open. There was also a burn mark on the desk before i had arrived but i didn’t mention it because i didn’t think it was that important UNTIL they charged my card another $250 after i left for a “smoking fee” which i have NEVER done in the room. Once i seen i was charged i called and asked why was i charged and she was very nasty and started making up lies saying the room was “smoked out” even though we know for a fact it wasn’t because we NEVER smoked in there. DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL EVERRR!!!!

Room smells like mold, never going here again. The other rooms were perfectly fine while room 311 just smells like straight up smoke.

I had a truly wonderful experience at the Wingate by Wyndham Hotel in Augusta, GA. The staff went above and beyond to be friendly and supportive, especially when I needed to adjust my reservation dates for an important project. Their kindness made a big difference during a busy time, and I’m really grateful for their assistance. Thank you!
