UP CUTS

If you have 4C hair, do not let this woman touch your head. I came in and asked a direct question: "Are you experienced with cutting 4C hair?" She looked me in the eye, a Black woman, and said yes. But what followed told a very different story. The entire haircut took less than 5 minutes. No sectioning, no moisture, no care. It was painfully obvious she had no idea how to properly cut or handle 4C hair. When I expressed that I was unhappy with the results, her response was, “Well, what are you going to do about it now?” That was the moment I realized this wasn’t just a bad haircut, it was a total disregard for me as a Black man and my hair. No professionalism. No accountability. No respect. If you love your hair, if you value quality service, and if you expect your stylist to actually understand 4C textures—stay far away from this stylist . This was a deeply disappointing and disheartening experience.

Sandy the owner is amazing. This shop offers military and first responder discounts at $16 and you can’t beat that. Very nice and laid back atmosphere with wonderful stylist. Several of my officers go here for their haircuts and are never dissatisfied . A hidden gem in my opinion.

Just got back to Aiken from college. So happy to be back in Sandy’s chair. she has cut my hair for 18 years and love what she does. Up Cuts and Sandy are amazing. Thanks again.
