After years of coming to Aiken, and trying all surrounding cafes/coffee shops, I confidently consider this to be the best option. The coffee and lattes are delicious and consistent. And the food is delicious and very fresh! I work from home so finding somewhere I can go and also enjoy lunch (I’m a vegetarian and they have great options) is a fun way to get out of the house. They have lots of seating both indoor and out and the music they play is pleasant. If you’re looking for a good coffee and/or breakfast/lunch, I would suggest trying this spot first.

If you’re looking for a charming, cozy, and delicious breakfast or brunch spot in Aiken, Polo Grounds Café is a must-visit. Nestled just off the main road but still easy to find, this hidden gem offers a relaxed and inviting atmosphere with both indoor and outdoor seating. Whether you’re meeting friends, enjoying a solo coffee, or bringing a book and soaking in the sunshine, this café has you covered. The crepes and French toast (only offered on the weekend) are absolutely divine. Hearty, rich, and packed with flavor, these aren’t your average light brunch options—they’re satisfyingly indulgent in the best possible way. The French toast in particular is thick-cut and perfectly golden, with just the right balance of crisp edges and soft, custardy middle. Topped with fresh berries and syrup, it’s a treat that feels like a warm hug on a plate. The crepes are equally impressive—delicate and tender, yet stuffed full of sweet or savory goodness, depending on your mood. My favorite is the El Presidente! They also offer a full range of specialty coffee drinks that go way beyond your standard cup of joe. Whether you prefer a classic latte, a frothy cappuccino, or something more creative with flavored syrups and seasonal ingredients, the baristas here know what they’re doing. The atmosphere is also worth mentioning. Inside, it’s warm and welcoming, with a laid-back vibe that makes you want to linger. Outside, the café really shines—there’s something so peaceful about sipping a coffee surrounded by the gentle buzz of conversation, a breeze in the air, and a stunning array of gorgeous plants. The greenery adds such a refreshing and calming touch to the space, making it feel more like a garden oasis than a typical café patio. In short, Polo Grounds Café is a beautiful blend of comforting food, delicious drinks, and serene ambiance. Whether you’re a local or just passing through Aiken, this café is well worth the stop. Come hungry, leave happy—and maybe a little full. High...

The ambience of this café is truly perfect—beautiful decor, lush plants, and an immaculately maintained space. My initial interaction inside was a bit off-putting. When I walked in, a man in the kitchen gave me an odd look, making me feel like I had done something wrong, though I wasn’t sure why. After selecting a coffee from the menu, I stood at the register and asked if I could order a to-go coffee. Despite being the only customer, none of the three employees behind the counter engaged with me until this point. The man replied, “yes,” and a woman barista then stepped in to take my order. From that point on, the experience was pleasant—the service was friendly, and the coffee was both delicious and fairly priced. I would go back, and recommend this cafe to others.

I ate there for lunch and had a crepe (the bees knees) as well as one of the specials (the cake baby). The food was very good and portion size was great! The inside is very small so not good for big groups but there is a take out option.

A French inspired breakfast/lunch spot. Crepes and French toast are recommended. Their shakes are pretty good too. M
