Sylvan Learning of Augusta

I am very disappointed in sylvan. I have used them twice for two different children. I paid for 100 hours and my daughter was going 4 days a week. According to Sylvan she has (4) excused absences and she has lost those 4 hours, because apparently she was suppose to make them up within the month. I was communicating with Sylvan and I stated we could make up on Friday, I was told the facility it’s closed on that day. So I responded with we will have to extend her last day, no one ever told me that wasn’t possible and she would just lose the hours. As much as we all pay for this service, this shouldn’t even be thought of to do to the children or the parents. I’m not sure if it’s just us receiving this kind of treatment. But everyone works hard for their money, and if you’re not keeping up with the hours they will cheat you or just take them for you. I was going to use them again when school started, but now I see it’s not about helping the children, it’s about making a profit and cheating the parents the best way you know how!!!!! PLEASE BE AWARE of this!!!

This place is awesome! My granddaughter has made tremendous strides in the 2 years she's been here. She was more than 2 years behind in math and now she is on grade level. The staff is amazing, caring, and truly committed to helping children succeed.

My boys started Sylvan Learning Center in February 2015. My husband I felt that they needed more assistance when it came to Reading, especially our youngest son. After two months of attending Sylvan, my youngest child's teacher informed me that she had noticed a tremendous improvement in our son. She saw more confidence in him, not only did his Reading grades improved tremendously, ALL of his grades were improving. His teacher also informed me that my child went up 32 point on his Reading standardized testing. My oldest son is doing extremely well! My husband and I feel that with Sylvan Learning Center, along with our assistance as parents contributing to his education as well, that he is now ready for his first year of Middle School! I recommend anyone who has a child that is struggling to utilize the services that Sylvan Learning Center provides. As parents we have to do our part as well and be a team with Sylvan in order for the successful outcome of our children's education.

My daughter has been going to Sylvan for at least two years. She has excelled in her work there and at school. The teachers have helped her confidence tremendously.

Sylvan has worked with our kids for over a year now. All the staff is very compassionate and caring. The director and her staff meet with me regularly to give me updates on how the kids are doing . They really take the time to answer my questions. The teachers are amazing. Their love for kids and teaching really shows. We have been very pleased with our experience with Sylvan and we can see the academic benefits.
