After being declined multiple times for an auto loan, SRP Credit Union was the one institution that approved me in the Georgia district. However, my membership didn’t process correctly, and Beth insisted I visit a branch—two hours away from my home. My son and I made the trip, only to be turned away because I didn’t have my birth certificate. Once it finally arrived, I returned to the branch, but even that wasn’t enough. I was met with skepticism and disrespect by a representative named Amanda. She scrutinized my documents, questioned why I chose SRP over other banks, and asked how much I made according to my taxes. My son, who handles all of my bookkeeping, was not even allowed in the room to assist me. Amanda even claimed that the tax company I used doesn’t exist—despite the fact it’s easily found online. I left feeling like a target, not a valued member. This experience was frustrating, disrespectful, and completely unprofessional. I do not recommend banking with SRP Credit Union, especially if you encounter someone like Amanda.

Let me tell you please find someone else to do business with! I have so many issues with them that I wouldn't even have with wells Fargo and that says alot and every time I use chat Lisa don't know anything. When I call customer service they don't know anything.

Shameka S. was so incredibly friendly and very good at explaining things without making me feel stupid. I have social anxiety and avoid tellers and cashiers, but it was necessary to use one for my request. I'm so blessed Shameka is there to calm my nerves and make banking pleasant.

SRP on Belair Rd near Cox Rd, the branch manager, B. Thomann was an angel! She was very nice and helpful. She took up a lot of her time straightening out my accounts. She was very genuine! She made me feel like she cared. I was a real person with real problems that affected my financial situation, and she listened to what I had to say. I had already given up and considered my 30+ years of being an SRP member a loss until she voluntarily assisted me. She was able to steer me in the right direction while also giving me advice on how to prevent the same issues from happening again in the future. I used her branch last month with it being the closest to me while I was out running errands. I live in North Augusta. I specifically went to her branch today because of the great impression I got from her last month.

Beware! If you have issues with your account after hours or on a weekend, you are out of luck until they open next business day. A major negative factor of dealing with a local credit union. If you call card services after hours you get someone who you can barely understand in another country. If you call the loan department after hours you get a English speaking person that can only help with loans. Hmmm? Apparently they are willing to lend you money after hours but not there to help when your account is locked for no reason. Small bank=lack of resources and service. I also got hung up on the first time I sat on hold for 10 minutes. Thanks a lot SRP!
