I have always had a pleasant experience with South State Bank. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable & helpful. and in reply to earlier comments: Many businesses require a certain amount on your debit card before they will accept a payment. This is a consequence on their end, not the bank's. And if the policy is midnight and you don't like it, change banks. However, this is probably a standard at most banks. Happy day to all!

I gave this so called "Financial Institution" one star simply because zero stars wasn't an option! They are beyond ignorant and unprofessional. I spent over an hour with the Assistant Branch Manager while she was trying to figure out how to get an insurance check endorsed. She finally made a copy of the check and promised she would call me back the same day or the very next day at the latest. Now, it's six weeks later and I still don't have the check endorsed. Totally incompetent and ignorant to basic banking procedures. As if that isn't bad enough, I was in the office at a teller window and another teller from the other side of the bank yells my personal information over to the teller I was doing business with! Do their tellers even understand the concept of "confidential information"? Evidently not, so let me enlighten them.... Confidential information means you don't share it with anyone but the person the information pertains to!! You certainly don't yell it across the entire bank! I'm extremely glad I don't trust them with my checking, savings, or investment accounts and I can't wait to refinance my mortgage so I don't have to give them another penny of my hard earned money! Oh how I miss Southern Bank and Trust!!

Out of all SouthState banks in the CSRA this is the slowest . Always extremely slow especially if you go through drive trough

I have a balance on my debit card and my card keeps getting declined? I tried to deposit cash in the arm and it would not let me? I deposited cash at a branch office and was told the funds would be available immediately, when I tried to pay a bill online it was declined? This is very stressful and inconvenient. This is an account I have had for 3 months. When depositing my payroll check I had to wait 3 days to get access to my money, I did not have these types of problems with my previous bank. If things don't get better I'm taking my business elsewhere.

I am actually considering to change my banking because South State is so slow. I miss the old Sothern Bank and Trust personnel, they were fast, friendly and customer oriented. This staff at South State is slow and ignorant. First Citizens hands down so much better local banking than South State. That's where I am going as quick as possible, unless South State does something about their personnel.
