South Carolina Welcome Center - North Augusta

We stopped at the North Augusta Welcome Center as we crossed into South Carolina, and it was such a pleasant surprise! The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming — you could tell they genuinely enjoy helping travelers. The restrooms were spotless, the grounds were beautifully maintained, and there were plenty of brochures, maps, and travel guides for all kinds of interests. Whether you’re into beaches, history, or nature, they’ve got you covered. It was the perfect place to stretch our legs, grab some info, and feel excited about the road ahead. Definitely recommend making this your first stop when entering the state!

This rest area was clean and not crowded. The bathroom 🚻 was kept clean and very decent. They also had snack machines that looked very well kept. There is plenty of space to walk the dogs or yourself.

The staff members inside the Welcome Center were super friendly and helpful. I didn't give it five stars as the bathrooms out back were a little outdated and could use some TLC. But overall not a bad stop as I've been to far worse in other places.

It has clean restrooms and is somewhat isolated. It's not as modern as other rest areas, but the staff are friendly. If you want a good night's sleep, I recommend you find a hotel because overnight parking is not permitted. And after closing hours, you are on your own.

Very nice rest area. The bathrooms were very clean. Also the surrounding area outside is very scenic. There's a gift shop inside the main building as well as coffee and vending machines. Plenty of parking for semi trucks and RVs. Nice places to walk around outside and look at the natural scenery. Love this place.
