Richmond County School System

All I have to say is, do your research. We moved from another state and I did not do my research on the schools here, I moved bc of family. They label all the kids the same. Some kids bully other students, nothing is done. If your child is involved in anything, you’re notified at the very last minute. Bus drivers show up WELL AFTER the time the routes say you have to be standing outside. Some times the buses don’t show up. What’s that mean for kids who depend on school transportation? You have to figure out how to get the there bc the bus driver will not turn around. I’ve had a bus driver drive right past my kids and when I called, I was told she was not turning around due to short staffed. One even grabbed my kid up by the arm and pulled him to the front of the bus… (whew!) the list goes on. & Academically, I feel like the kids are set up for failure.

Don't Forget About the Good Sometime we focus on the bad things that's going on around us and forget about the good stuff. Good teachers are still in the school system but they're very limited to what they can say and do. Because of the interference from the government or board, students are in control (they can't be chastised) giving them the upper hand and leaving the teachers and staff members with fear of losing their jobs. Give the teachers and staff members their control back and watch the problem go away. Most important things, put GOD back in school.

I set an appointment to be fingerprinted and was in and out in no time. Very courteous staff.

My children have gone to school in many different districts due to being prior military. This school system and their transportation system is by far the worst we've experienced. I can't even keep track of how many times their bus was either a no show or just drove by them. To top it off my oldest gas been stolen from and bullied and the school failed to act. If they did act they refused to give me feedback and the issue continued. Can't wait to leave this school system.

This is the worst uncaring unhelpful school system. My child was enrolled in Glenn hills elementary and 1 week later she was sent home with withdrawal papers withouty consent or knowledge. Reason so called out of zone when yet they told me that was her zoned school. And now I am being bounced between two schools cause so called neither are her zoned school. My address is not even in the system. Called after many hang ups I was told it's a glitch in the system and to use the neighbors address to get her back in school!!! That is breaking the law! And here it is over a month later and she is still not in school! I was told by the school sorry I don't know what to tell you or what to do. So what the hell am I supposed to do!!! This is causing alot of problems.
