Osaka sushi &steak house

I am always the type of person that looks at reviews before trying a new place and I definitely had high hopes for this place but my food did not look anything close to the photos. My chicken seemed like it wasn’t even cooked it has absolutely no color. The portion is huge so that was a plus but it wasn’t very tasty. I even ordered deep fried sushi but it is soggy and very oily and I’m just used to it having that crispy crust on the outside. When I walked in there was nobody in there I probably should’ve taken that as a sign that the food isn’t great.

Sushi was good. While dining in, I had spicy tuna, eel & scallop. For my to go order, I had the 2020 roll. All of it was delicious and the service from everyone was excellent! Interior decorations are coming along; It needs a few more finishing touches but it was clean and welcoming.

Osaka Hephzibah was so delicious. While dining in, my family and I had Shrimp Shumai (not pictured) 10/10, Dragon Roll 10/10, Steak and Shrimp Hibachi and Chicken and Shrimp Hibachi 10/10. The service from our server JJ and the manager Jay was excellent! Our food was served in a timely manner! The atmosphere was nice, clean, and very pleasant! Glad to have in Hephzibah!!!

My brother picked up Osaka's cause we had eaten there before and liked it, but while I was eating to my disgust I found a dead roach in my vegetables. Almost threw up on the spot. Gordon Ramsay would probably have a field day there. Gross.

I'm so excited to have a restaurant like this on this side of town! The prices were very reasonable for the lunch menu as well. We got chicken/shrimp hibachi with veggies, rice and noodles, all excellent. Also got the pork belly katsu which was so tasty! And I got a couple sushi rolls (the only thing I remembered to take pictures of). I will say, almost everything was pretty bland on its own. However, each dish was paired with a unique sauce that really brought the food to life. I think this is great for people to adjust their levels of salt/flavor for their dietary needs! Once we dipped the food in the paired sauce, it was all delicious. My husband even said it's the best we've had in Augusta! The fried rice and soups were flavorful enough on their own, but the meats and sushi rolls benefitted significantly from the sauces. The rice in the sushi though was perfectly cooked and seasoned. I might order some extra sauce for my sushi next time but overall it was all very fresh and delicious. My husband also said he would opt for a dinner portion for his hibachi next time because he wished he had more of the chicken and shrimp, but I thought it was a reasonable portion for a lunch serving and the rice, veggies and noodles were all very generous portions. We got carryout, but when I went in by myself to pick up our large order the staff greeted me very sweetly were so kind to help me carry my order out to my car. From the outside the place looks a bit uninviting because of the window shades, but it's a very clean welcoming atmosphere inside (in no way reminiscent of the huddle house that used to be in the building). We can't wait to visit again!
