Old Barnwell

Incredible experience at Old Barnwell. Super fun, playable course. The greens were firm and fast. Highly encourage playing with a caddie. Our crew did a great job. The course staff was really accommodating to our group. Would also recommend playing the kids course after the round for more golf.

What a phenomenal experience! From The moment you arrive on the property the unassuming sign in the middle of nowhere. then you arrive and I immediately see what appears to be the most enjoyably fun kids course ever! The clubhouse is presently under construction. golf shop is in a trailer facility however great staffing and wonderful merchandise for the size. The topography is so unique for this area. the conditions were terrific, the course is magical, I hope to get another invite back and play again. An absolute treasure.

Played 10/19/23 2 HCP Course just opened and it’s pure! The design is exceptional, one of my favorite courses I’ve ever played. Crazy green complexities - quick ! Very open and playable off the tee, then it gets wild. Staff friendly and welcoming! Loved it - we will be back! Update - played 6/6/24 - course is amazing, lightning fast and firm. First class experience. I was a bit disappointed they didn’t switch half the pins from Thursday to Friday - but other than that this place is awesome and very challenging.

WHAT.A.COURSE! Grew up in the area, but now live in Illinois. Have played more than a few of the greats in the country. I wouldn't be surprised in the least for Old Barnwell to find its place in that company in the near future. It has fantastic land movement and plays fast and firm. That's an incredible combination for a golf course. Add to that the architects sublime bunkering and you have a course that will be an award winner. It's also a course that you're going to want to play over and over again as you work to figure out the best routes to play some of the holes. There are some Pinehurst #2 vibes on the course as well as there are quite a few runoffs around the green...some that you see and some that you don't. All in all, a world-class walk with your golf clubs.

The course is amazing - playable and fun, yet challenging and strategic. It’s open off the tee, but gets tricky (and fun) on and around the greens. Overall, it played fast and firm, and the greens rolled pure. Loved the walk around this place!
