There are several positive things to say about my stay at Harrington Park Rehabilitation Center following a fall which resulted in a broken hip. Beginning with the medical staff, physician and nurse practitioner, who modified my blood pressure medicines to reduce symptoms of orthostatic hypotension and arranged a follow up appointment with my orthopedic doctor upon discharge from Harrington. Next, the kitchen staff who were receptive to special requests. Lastly, but certainly not the least is the exceptional therapy team, every single one of them! Therapy consisted of exercises to strengthen and increase mobility as well as improving ADL’s related to bathing and dressing. Therapy was functional in nature with explanations of the reasons why tasks should be done in a certain way. Family members were involved in the planning for discharge. Today, I am two weeks post discharge from Harrington and Home Heath is just being scheduled. If it had not been for the excellent therapy I received at Harrington, I would not have been able to complete many of the necessary activities of daily living safely.

I was there recovering from knee replacement in August 2024. From the moment I got there till the moment I was discharged I was treated with such warmth and care and they made me feel very welcomed. When I was supposed to go home after a few days, they knew I was stressed about going home because I felt I was not ready and they knew so they made arrangements to have me stay a little longer. I am very picky about food and the kitchen staff worked with me on that and I have never eaten so well at any rehab facility. Physical and occupational therapy were outstanding and the nursing and CNA staff were outstanding and caring. The doctor and nurse practitioner listened to any concerns I had and took care of them for me. The ladies that cleaned my room (Malaysia, Jasmine) were excellent as well as Stanley who fixed my TV and lamp in my room. I have never been to an inpatient physical rehab facility that I had no complaints about, that has gone above and beyond to accommodate me. I have been to several rehab facilities over the years and Harrington Park has been the best out of all of them. If I ever have to again go inpatient for therapy I will always choose Harrington Park. Special thanks to Andrea, Tosha and all Department heads for EVERYTHING ❤️❤️Thank you to Stanley, Malaysia, Jasmine for taking such good care of my room, all CNA’s on 2nd floor especially Sonya, all nurses on second floor, all occupational and physical therapy(Kristi, CJ, Kealie, Nancy, Janice, Melinda) outstanding job, kitchen staff, a special thank you for accommodating my picky needs. I will miss all the great food I ate while I was there. Special thanks to Dr. Powell and Nurse Practioner Lisa Clark for actually looking at my chart and knowing my case and meeting any needs or concerns I might have. Thank you all for such a wonderful experience, I will miss you all 😊❤️

My mom was there from December 2019 until 2021 when she left this world . The administration, nutrition, nursing staff took very good care of my mom. Treated her with respect and like she was one of there family members. Even during 2020 I couldn’t ask for no better! My mom loved them very much!

My grandmother was admitted to Harrington Park post a hip replacement surgery in 2018. She complained about lack of help from staff, which we witnessed during her time there and she filed formal complaints about. Her wound opened and began weeping during her stay. We were told it was being tended to. She received routine blood draws during her time here - all draws (we didn't physically see the lab results at the time) showed an increase in white blood cells (which can be a sign of infection). No follow up labs were done. The NP or physician noted a mental decline, but chalked it up to old age and possible dementia. Less than 2 days after she left the facility, she collapsed and was admitted with sepsis that had already passed the blood/brain barrier. She passed several weeks later. A completely avoidable death due to plain negligence. I even called (very nicely) and spoke to the administration to have the facility look into the event - I wanted to ensure this didn't happen to another family. After my initial call and request for an investigation - they refused to accept or return my calls.

My mom was admitted to Harrington Park March 2017. They kicked my mom out of the facility; after only a few days. They weren't willing to work with my mom due to her memory issues. They were aware of my mom's mental status when they accepted her as a patient. So, why accept someone if you know your therapist don't have the skill or patience to work with them. The social worker was very rude about kicking my mom out. I even offered to go to physical therapy with my mom to help out. However, the social worker said in a very rude tone, "she's NOT staying!" I never understood their unwillingness to work with dementia patients. The times I had gone with my mom to physical therapy, she had done everything the physical therapist had asked her to do. It's too bad the attitude and skill level of the staff don't match the beauty of the facility! The facility is very beautiful and the food was good, that's all I can say on a positive note about Harrington Park.
