My family and I have lived at Gatewood apartments for 3 years and just resigned for our 4th. We really enjoy our apartment very much and the people who work here! Molly and Adriana are always very nice and do there best to address things when they come up. They are my dogs best friend with all the treats and hugs they give him. He has to make his daily stop. lol If I could ask or have 1 thing added to the property, it would be an area for the dogs to play.

EDITED REVIEW:::: After living here for over a year and making peace with the fact that they won't fix anything I have been able to start enjoying my townhouse. The location has a lot of traffic off the main road but the neighborhood itself is quiet. They finally sent out pest control and keep the landscape neat. The park is really outdated but it's a Pokestop so that's cool. The cabana has a working fireplace with satellite TV above, unfortunately the grills are disgusting and have never actually worked for me. The pool accessibility is extremely flexible which in the south is a tremendous blessing! We wanted our son to go to Millbrook but the county rezoned and he was forced to go to East Aiken Elementary. We were veryyyyyy concerned about it at first but I have to admit we like the staff there, the bus driver is so nice, and my kid is happy there. During hurricane Helene my side of the neighborhood did not lose electricity for longer than an hour. Because of the school, the rad floorplan, and how quiet the neighborhood is we decided to renew our lease for now. Renewing the lease doesn't negate the fact that they do not fix things and if they do you're looking at 2-8 weeks minimum for repairs. Ie: our half bath faucet collapsed at the base of the sink making it inoperable. I submitted a work order but after a few days I accepted the fact that I was going to need to repair the faucet myself because waiting 2-8 weeks wasn't an option for my household. The day after we moved in the kitchen cabinets above the refrigerator fell off the wall and were not safely reattached to the wall for another 2 weeks. Praise God no one was hurt and none of my things were destroyed. Would I recommend someone move in here? Probably not. Has this place grown on me and become our home, yes. I hope this updated review is helpful to those searching for a new home.

We lived @Gatewood for the last 2 1/2 years, and can’t speak highly enough about the staff there running the place. From day 1 in the office, to the prompt, and speedy maintenance visits that We requested. They came in and quickly made any kind of repair that We had pop up while we were there, and it took them no time to complete and be on their way. We cannot speak highly enough about them either. Especially Ben and Oscar. They really get on the ball, as much work as they do throughout every day. They do it all with a big smile on their faces while taking care of their residents! They really know what they are doing. The girls in the office too. They made the entire process simple, and easy to understand everything. Had We not bought our first house, we would hail still be at Gatewood!

We stayed with Gatewood for 3 years. They were pleasant enough to work with, though maintenance was a little slow. They replaced all sorts of old stuff for us, like the AC, dishwasher, faucet, etc. The biggest problem was when we moved out. We assumed that we could move out free of charge on the last month of our contract, but missed the small change they made to the contract in the past year that said it would automatically renew on the last month without us signing it again, etc. So we were charged an extra month of rent, with additional fees for "leaving early" and no sign of our deposit.

Property is not maintained, poor service, limited qualified workers or who cares, renovations are done poorly and not as stated, installing sliding doors without screens, exterminator doesn’t come regularly, poor communication, back of property not maintained(and it has nothing to do with the so called remodeling), picnic area not cleaned regularly, etc. I only lived here since February and until things change drastically I wouldn’t recommend it. People who have been here for years are leaving due to service and the price increase that doesn’t match the quality and service. You’ll regret it if you have any experience living somewhere else nice. I promise.
