Fukuro Bar & Sushi

My wife and I had a fantastic experience at Fukuro. It's a classy, authentic Japanese dining experience that's hard to come by. This is not a $5 Americanized sushi buffet full of California rolls and Yum Yum sauce. That's a good thing. We split 4 different dishes, including the Toro Sampler, two rolls, and the Wagyu Rice dish. I love fatty tuna and so I was so excited to see Toro on a menu outside of Japan. It was amazing. The rolls were both great, especially the roll with mango. I don't have pictures of the Wagyu dish because we ate it too quickly after they prepared it table side. You pay a bit if a premium for everything, but it was completely worth the price. Our service was top notch from Rachel. She was attentive, friendly, and walked us through the entire menu. Before we left, we went through the menu again to decide what we want next time. It was the best sushi we've had outside of Japan.

Outstanding at every level. We have had nothing by excellent experiences at Fukuro in the short time it has been open. Sushi and other dishes are incredibly fresh and beautifully presented. Each of the rolls focuses of being visually appealing as well as providing a variety of textures and wonderful flavor. Strong wine and liquor (especially whiskey) selections with stand out sakis (get a bottle in the ice dispenser!) and some beers. Upbeat servers were attentive and friendly providing thoughtful recommendations for menu that is totally approachable. Food came out quickly. The location has a modern open design with welcoming vibe. Great for date nights, family dinners, or even casual solo dining. Good music that wasn't overwhelming, tasteful lighting, comfortable seating. Is it in a strip mall next to a Dunkin', in the burb's of Evans away from downtown Augusta? Yes! But that is sometimes the best place to find hidden gems, which this is. Worthy of a James Beard award. Better than Michelin Star sushi restaurants we have gone to. We will be regulars.

I had a wonderful dining experience at Fukuro Bar&Sushi. The ingredients were incredibly fresh, which truly enhanced the flavors of each dish. The taste was naturally refreshing yet left a lasting, unforgettable aftertaste. The dish designs were exquisitely crafted, showcasing both creativity and attention to detail. Overall, it was a delightful experience that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented dishes.

Such a cute modern spot. Felt like I was in Boston or New York again. Loved the puffer rolls. A classy elevated take on a spring roll with scallop and lobster and spices. 16 dollars. Short ribs were absolutely delicious. Soft melt in your mouth and such beautiful presentation. Sushi also very tasty. Loved the guava darling alcoholic cocktail. The matcha tiramisu is so yummy. And I don’t like matcha. Smooth. Creamy. Just the right amount of sweet. Gorgeous presentation. Staff so sweet and friendly. Loved it. Definitely coming back.

The service, ambiance, libations and menu are all top notch. Their Wagyu and Fish selection are flown in from Japan. The Sashimi was fresh and full of flavor. The sesame and Wasabi are made in house. Overall this place is super impressive and I'm already planning a return visit. Perfect date night atmosphere.
