Wendy Garrett is a highly skilled equine professional. She was one of the best riding instructors I've ever had the pleasure to train under. I highly recommend Devonwood Farms.

My grand daughter has been taking lessons for 6 years at this place. What she has learned will last her a life time. The trainer, has been patient and professional by tuning the training to her personal situation and helping her progress with showing skills.

My grand kids came to visit from Florida for a week and I wanted them to have new experiences. Was so excited to find horse riding lesson at Devonwood Farms aka Aiken Riding Lessons. Well first day arrived as instructed at 4:30 pm. Kids got out of car as well as myself. An older lady came out and said bring there over her we have lots to do. Never introduced herself to me or the kids. Then scolded me for not arriving 15 mintues prior to our scheduled appointment. Maybe they should had scheduled differently. Now that I am not off to a good start with the lack of friendliness.. The kids ages 7 and 8 were on a horse and going around on a track. The instructor Never introduced herself to the kids and through out the entire time- kept ordering the kids to keep their arms up. Day 2 the same- no introduction no fun for the kids and no regard for their muscles and holding their arms out for 30 minutes while walking the horse. Never were the kids told "why" or given any "riding" instructions. It was get on the horse- walk around a track and keep your arms They trotted a little. Nothing more. Day 3 my husband attended and he almost stopped the lesson as the instructor today Makayla was constantly on my grandson about keeping his arm up- she did not want to hear his arm was tired and kept ordering him. My husband walked to the fence and Makayla would stop but then start again. The kids learned absolutely nothing and did not have an educational experience and I would never recommend Devonwood Farms for anyone desiring the same for their children or themselves. Not worth the money or time. Highly disappointed in the owner and staff and their lack of friendliness, professionalism, and ability to teach or their simple lack of any real knowledge. Thank goodness the horses the kids loved.I paid for 3 days of less than 30 minutes of instruction $240.00 - just a scam. Aiken Resident

This has been one of the most therapeutic things for me! I have learned so much in the past few months of taking lessons! It truly is an amazing experience! The place, people, and of course, horses, are great!
