my wife is unable to walk. She is disabled and needs to use a wheelchair to get around. Therefore we have a wheelchair-accessible parking spot in front of our building. this parking spot is labeled with signage that states that you must have the appropriate placard in order to legally park there. However, the people who live near us (I hesitate to call them neighbors because this behavior is extremely unneighborly) are constantly parking illegally in this space. it happens a lot, and I'm sure Aiken DPS is tired of hearing from me, but I have no other option other than to call them to get these people to move out of our spot. However, apparently in order to park illegally in Aiken and get away with it, all you have to do is not answer the phone when the police call you. there are literally no repercussions for the people who park illegally. their cars don't get towed, they don't get a ticket. They literally get a phone call, and if they don't answer, nothing happens. is it any wonder that they keep parking in the only wheelchair accessible spot in front of the building? There is literally no consequence for them doing so. therefore the two star review on city of Aiken public safety is warranted because they do less than the bare minimum when it comes to parking enforcement.

I have called many times about many situations that occur at Redd St. Park and when they come they just talk to people and practically do nothing. They spend time smoking all kinds of drugs in a children's park. The police only give them a warning and continue doing the same thing every day. The Aiken police do not want to do their job.

Like in Richmond County there's different rules for lesser humans and how much you have to take before you react and give them a taste of their own medicine , why yes , I will just handle it myself with slurs and defending my property and body. Resegregate.

I called in a violent act being committed to the city dispatcher. The dispatcher was overly rude. Took 45 seconds to answer the phone. Then decided to make rude comments about how it was “impossible” for me to have seen the act 30 seconds prior to the call when she asked how long it had been since I had seen the act visibly. It was one minute at best. I told her it took her 45 seconds to answer the phone so excuse me for not being exact. Straight up B. I. T. CCCCCCHHHH

Swift service with dignity. Clean but small, moving to a new larger location soon!
