Better Boating - Irmo

Booked a Pontoon Boat online for around $500 for a Half the Day on 07/16/2022. Check in time was at 11:30am to 5pm.The boat was beautiful and amazingly all to us (party of 5) We had such a wonderful time plenty of beautiful and interesting thing to see and the best part of it is when we needed to cool off. We just drop anchor and jumped in lake to cool off (we did that four different time) and also enjoyed lunch at one of the few dock-restaurant on Lake Murray (shot out to Cat-Fish Joe’s) the teriyaki wings were delicious and to top it off a live band was playing sweet music outside-- we will definitely visit again Con: Customer service needs improvement. I had to ask different personnel for direction during check-in time and Return time. Same thing just needed better help of direction instead of assuming that all customer should know what to where to and how to. Pro:Everything else went well. The safety instructor and the guide coach “who was with us” stay until we were comfortable to take over the wheel. The pontoon boat was beautiful, comfortable and well maintain. I forgot my bag in one of the seats (all seats are storage space) and didn’t realize it until we got home. I call to report it and shortly after they call to report that they found the bag. At that time they were closed but stayed open for me to pick up my belongings. we will definitely visit again

I have booked a few times with Better Boating and have previously really enjoyed the experience. I understand that companies have to have policies, but I was extremely disappointed in how our process was handled. I made a reservation for a group of friends and paid the deposit (weeks in advance of our travel date)--to only come to find out that our reservation was later canceled. Again, I understand policies and I am not removing myself from any blame--but I think that this policy is a bit nonsensical. I have been extremely busy and apparently missed their call and email to complete their orientation and failed to respond within the allotted timeframe--resulting in them completely canceling our reservation. I was thoroughly disappointed not only in this cancelation but in the way that the discussion with supervision was handled--very dismissive and generally unapologetic--"we can't just hold boats". I think it is misleading to take a deposit from someone if at the end of the day, that deposit means nothing in terms of holding the reservation. It would make more sense in my opinion to charge the full fee on the day of the reservation if someone decides to no-show instead of canceling a reservation of a loyal customer just because they failed to respond within a couple of days of receiving an email.

Our family took Bravo out for the day to explore the lake and just joy ride. The boat was in great shape and handled very well. It was clean and ready at the dock when we arrived. Check in was seamless as was gassing up and return. The best part was being able to bring our dog with us! Thank you for being dog friendly!

We had an amazing time with Better Boating. Professional check-in, excellent condition of the boat and a patient introduction of the biat features. The day was great and returning the boat after refueling was easy, convenient and without any surprises. Everyone was extremely friendly, we will definitely return. Thank you!

Better boats has been a breeze, we ended up having more people than originally scheduled and they quickly located a larger boat to accommodate everyone. The boat was extra clean and the staff is incredibly friendly!
