I always go into reenactments with a bit of trepidation because I've been to some that were stupendously lame. This one did NOT disappoint. The amount of effort put into this event is stunning! I cannot imagine how much money goes into the costumes alone. The Battle itself was so exciting. They had a ton of cannons volleying back and forth, soldiers on horses racing around, soldiers on foot taking cover and shouting out orders. There was a period authentic funeral procession, a battleground littered with fallen soldiers, as well as a whole encampment set up throughout the wooded areas. I can't say enough about how well this is run and how respectful the planners are of presenting factual information. They clearly take a lot of pride in presenting an accurate depiction of what fighting for our country looked like and what it cost so many men and women.

There is a lot to do for the whole family. The Battle, vendors with realistic attire, and handmade goods. Historical exhibits etc. We camped the weekend and enjoyed everything. The highlight is always the Saturday night dance. They teach the crowd traditional dances from the era and everyone dresses up.

Very good reenactment! Realistic living areas, even the shopping area was cool. The more modern demonstrations of weapons was really good, especially the flame thrower! The military time line exhibit was nice. Small children may be frightened by the loud cannon fire as it was real! Bring a folding chair. Food trucks were present for meals and snacks.
