The rooms looked like they had been remodeled. It was updated with no carpet and more of a minimalist style. All the basics were included, but slightly above hotel average such as Dove soaps, shampoo, and conditioner. You could even checkout on the TV. I can't really comment on the service after the check-in process. I booked 2 hours before heading to the hotel, checked in with no problems, went to my room, and didn't need anything until I had to check out.

My stay was from March 7, 2025 to March 10, 2025 when I first arrived I was charged $50 for incidental fees. When I left this morning at 5:30am I explained to the front desk agent ( black older gentleman ) that due to me wearing dreadlocks I have a night scarf I tie my hair up with. It was really weird to me that it left a brownish color like I fell to sleep with foundation and that wasn’t the case. And I don’t have any product in my hair like oil or grease. I showed the front desk clerk the picture and he said ok. I just got home and noticed they charged my credit card an additional $200 in addition to the $50. I called and asked the reason for the additional $200 charge and she stated that the pillows and sheets was messed up badly that’s what she was told. I asked her did they even try to wash the pillow case / sheets before they charged my card and she stated no she didn’t know. I asked to speak to the manager and she stated they were not available I provided my number for a return call. I can understand them washing them and charging the $50 for incidental but $250 is totally outrageous. According to their incidental policy it ranges from $20 to $200 I will make another updated review when I get a return call from the manager. Received a return call from I guess the property management and he was very rude!!! Over talked me through the entire conversation and was so loud that the person I was conducting business with overheard his whole conversation. Usually I look at reviews before I book a hotel and if I seen the reviews I would’ve went to Hilton. FYI when a customer is talking don’t over talk them without listening first. With you doing that it makes me think this wasn’t your first time charging outrageous fees.

I’ve stayed at this location a few times and this is so disappointing to say, but here we go. When I arrived, the room had crumbs on the table, and hair was on the floor. I didn’t complain due to me being able to check in early, and overall the room wasn’t bad. However, when I went to bed, I was awaken by a bedbug at around 2:30am. I decided to leave and I advised the front desk(Rose) about what happened and I sent a picture of the bug. I was also told that a manager would call me to see how they would compensate me for the inconvenience, but no one called. I had to keep calling and finally I spoke with the GM. Not, only was he rude, but he insinuated that I wasn’t bit because they checked the room after me. I’m so frustrated and upset with the situation at this point so I decided to hang up.

I did not get a chance to stay at the hotel. I made a reservation on the IHG app. Something happened through the app that the day was not correct and none of my contact information was sent to the hotel. When this was realized I called and attempted to change the day to 2 days later and the front desk stay all the way to the general manger was rude and disrespectful. They were not willing to try to resolve the issue and were more concerned about the $116 they got, rather than a satisfied customer. Do not stay here unless you like being treated as only $116. They do not care about you only their business. They took no responsibility for the app issues and blamed it on IHG. Disappointing, IHG lost a member and will NEVER stay with an AVID hotel.

So I reviewed the one that I stayed at in Fort Mill, last week. I am currently at this one in grovetown.. I do like the location of this one much better as it is surrounded by a lot of stuff within walking distance. The rooms are a little different, but overall still comfortable. *UPDATE* I DIDN'T EVEN REALIZE IT WAS 10 AM WHEN THEY CAME IN BECAUSE THIS IS ONE OF THE BETTER CURTAINS I'VE HAD IN A HOTEL. IT STILL LETS IN A LITTLE LIGHT, BUT MUCH AT ALL FOR THIS ROOM. FOR A THIRD SHIFTER THIS IS NICE.. Now mind you, this is not an issue for me or it really shouldn't be for anybody... 2 of the 4 bed lights don't work. Which there is plenty of other adequate lighting, so it doesn't effect the score. Also, as people know, the door locks from the inside and has a stopper. The door has leveled throughout time (it happens) and the lock does not secure, as it's not even with the area that the bolt part goes into. I went down to the front desk about 10 min ago and the front desk lady was very helpful and was going to let maintenance know, so she put in a work order for the door right there. The light problems I figured out right after I went to go turn them on as I was writing this, she also noted this for maintenence and was very helpful. The harder to clean areas are a little dirty. There are some spots on the floor that have not been swept or vacuumed under the headboard areas but can be seen in plain sight. Overall, i'm out here for work and it's a place to sleep that is within my budget. So I feel like my money is well spent. It seems like they have corrected most of the issues people have complained about my bedding was clean, towels clean, no bugs on the third floor and it's quiet so far. Now I could say if I was utilizing this more as a hotel for vacation it would be nice to see some of the little things corrected and cleaned ( but I also understand that even though it is their job, it is not easy to complete, without having more time and in this industry...
