WE LOST OUR HOME TO HURRICANE HELENE now we are dealing with contractors that don’t do the right thing in our opinion. For the main retaining wall of our BRAND new home after this horrible experience that we are so grateful to have survived, we had ACB deliver block; we received two shipments of which the second shipment was a different color. It is very significant color difference. We were sent TWO DIFFERENT COLORS. It’s their mistake in our opinion. They told us we could stain it. Which with the base color difference would require a solid stain for the closest match. Stain is also not UV stable which means we have been handed a lifetime of maintenance. The only permanent solution is to prime the block, then use a UV stable polyaspartic system with a top coat of high solids Urethane which is THOUSANDS of dollars. Or tear it down at our own expense, because according to what we understand, it’s our fault. The delivery receipt has that the order color IS OUT on it. We were blamed for the problem. I’ve never had a company blame me for their mistake. AND TONS of the block were cracked and/or damaged as well. Now they did say they’d pick those up. Unfortunately, it’s almost half the order. We were told that we should have caught it. The company refuses to assist us in any way. In our opinion, based on the documents and our discussions, we have come to the conclusion that we were delivered the wrong color. What a nightmare after all we’ve been through with Helene.
