Aiken County Tax Collector

Went there at 2:30pm to pay my car taxes and it’s closed. The sign says it’s open until 5pm. No explanation given. They’ll happily take your money at their convenience.

Be careful with when taxes are due. Everywhere else we've lived, taxes are due Feb - May. Theirs are due at the end of the year. Our first bill we received was the delinquent notice - with hefty penalties, and there is no grace.

I had never had an experience like this in this place. I had always paid my taxes and today the lady at the audit window yelled at me and treated me very badly. What a terrible service, how racist.

I don't understand why this office does not have an answering service that tells you that they will be closed AFTER a holiday. I don't understand why, on Google Maps it says this office is open when it is not... and... I really do not understand how, after residing at the same address for more than 20 years, this very important mail is not being received, two years in a row... One would think, that with all this Tax monies this city requires us to pay, this office would be serving its community with at least some basic common courtesy

Very large building. Staff was friendly. Very clean. Nicely decorated.
