22 Dec 22-Animal control is incompetent and indifferent to the welfare of animals. We will get well under freezing over the next few nights, she is already wet, and cold with no protection from the cold and rain other than a cheap dog house or you know its 10 degree outside. She is a short haired pit mix, she has no way to access her food or water when it starts to rain or snow. But this is acceptable and she is expected to just suffer bc all animal control does is check a box. Way to go folks, hope you enjoy your warm houses tonight while this dog freezes👍🏼They have now decided as long as she has water nothing else matters. Since Animal Control loves to lie about her conditions I am attaching pics from today. It is embarrassing this is considered acceptable. My next stop will be an animal rights attorney.

Honestly at my wits end with them. My whole neighborhood calls about a group of dogs. They are nothing but skin and bones, they are constantly running the neighborhood and are not friendly at all. A lot of us have child. They can’t even play outside anymore because of them. I have sent videos, like they ask, of dogs running around and aggressive. They have done NOTHING!!!!!!! In fact I was told ‘oh my buddy and I have been trying to help them out’. Ummmm no sir. You are an Animal Control Officer, your job is to take animals out of an unsafe situation and help them, not the owners who are mistreating them! So over it.

Officer Kelly, I think that's who called me. She was so nice and completely understanding about my complaint. She went to the house to do welfare check and called me back. I truly appreciate this place. I worry about this dog often. She put my mind at ease. Took my call seriously and didn't make me feel as if I overreacted.

I came across a dog that had been hit by a car but was still alive in the road at about 7:30 in the morning and had no idea what to do to help the poor baby. I called Aiken county and they had the animal control come and get her. They were very quick to respond which I was extremely thankful for because time was very important for this sweet dog. The officer got there and gently put her into a kennel for transport. Later that evening I called to check on the dog and a very sweet lady answered the phone. She wasn’t sure what happened to her but she went above and beyond to check for me so I could have an update. Unfortunately she didn’t make it but I know in my heart they did everything they could do to help her.

They do a wonderful job with the drive thru/ food pantry for pets. I'm always amazed at jobs they do to help with the sheltered animals they receive. It breaks my heart seeing all those poor babies without homes. I'm so grateful for this shelter to help so many homeless animals. Wish I had a place big enough I would adopt them all. I give y'all a 5 star cos y'all very much deserve it and then some.
